About Me:
I'm a Bhikshuni in the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism. I met the Dharma when I was 17 and have been a nun for 7 years. I live in India in a nunnery for Western women, but often travel to other places to teach and do social work. I work with ex-untouchable Indian Buddhists some of whom are still very poor and oppressed, but some of the most inspiring people you're likely to meet in this life!

International Fund for Western Vajrayana monastics and poor Indian Buddhists

Dear Friends,

There are only 2 or 3 monasteries for Western monastics in the whole world that fully support and train their monastics to practice as full time monastics and not as employees. 60-75% of Western Tibetan monastics who ordain disrobe.

Chances are you have a friend who's a monastic, they might be there at your child's birth to offer blessings, there when they grow up and get depression to counsel them, and there when they marry and pass away. Western monastics… Continue

"Thanks for helping facilitate this great site. How do you know who to ask? Do you invite all Buddhist Centres to come online?"

I started inviting the Buddhist Centres I can find. The goal is to connect Buddhists so my hopes is that all the centres would "spread the word".

Hi sister Yeshe,

Nice to see you in this website! Someone told me that you will visit Adelaide on the 31th of October. Do you mind telling me what movie are you going to show the people in Adelaide?

Hello Sister Yeshe, sorry to hear about your experience of Adelaide Buddhism as very sectarian. They are. Dominique founded the Sakyapa in Adelaide and found their politics rather un-dharmic. When he needed a spiritual guide, he turned to Thay. But I send you and all followers of the Buddha's path my goodwill and blessings

Hi Sister Yeshe,

Thank you for coming to Adelaide. While I personally missed your film night and talks, I am sure that they were of benefit to those that attended.

The only reason I didn't attend was due to a lack of transport, rather than it being a sectarian thing.

You are right that we have become more miserly and self focused in our attitudes in the West.

There do need to be more monks and nuns ordaining here (and for there to be more Sangha support, government understanding, etc).

Keep going. Awareness dispells ignorance.
